Does the idea of exploring and unlocking new movement potential on a weekly basis gets you jazzed? Every week I do two live on Zoom classes for fellow explorers, nerds, and lovers of movement. All classes are inspired by my studies of Gary Ward’s Anatomy in Motion and how the body moves in gait.

Movement Multivitamin

Many of us take a multivitamin to cover our nutritional bases… Why not do the same for our movement system’s health?

This class is a full-body, general movement “multivitamin”, to give your body the “nutrients” (joint motions and muscle actions) it may not get regularly as part a typical day. It’s a non-conceptual/educational session for you to simply enjoy exploring new pathways of movement outside your current default mode, comfort zones, and habitual patterning.

Each session is slightly different, but addresses the whole body: Spine, feet, legs/hips, and arms/shoulders, to help you find new ways of experiencing your body, unlocking new movement potential, and feeling more centered.

MOVEMENT AND STRENGTH TRAINING FOUNDATIONS

These sessions integrate the gait-integrate movements into the context of a with bodyweight strength training session. THe emphasis is on excecuting the fundamental exercises with excellent quality and precision. But just because we’re practicing the basics, doesn’t mean it’s an easy class.

The gait inspired movements are used to prepare your body for the strength training exercises so you can build strength starting from a more centered, self-aware place. These are slower moving, and definitely not sexy, but are often challenging for me! (come just to watch me struggle…).

Sessions starts with 5 minutes of meditation, bodyscanning, and breathwork. All fitness levels welcome. No equipment required.

Movement Deep Dive

These sessions are educational and practical, to support Liberated Body and AiM students keep learning and exploring their anatomy experientially.

Each Deep Dive zooms in on a particular concept, area of the body, or common complaint, to help you understand it better in the context of gait, and in relationship with the rest of your body.

For example, we’ve done deep dives on:

  • Ankle sprains
  • Bunions
  • Heel strike moment of gait
  • Hip-extension
